Working from home seems like a fairytale for some entrepreneurs, given its ease, accessibility, and comfort. Although the location is ideal, this prime real estate isn’t always productive or even practical.

For most entrepreneurs the idea of working from home seems ideal. What a great time saver/commute saver! But the reality is, for most entrepreneurs, it’s a disaster.
As someone who’s successful and works from home, and has helped others set-up that kind of environment, I want to share with you three tips that are best understood through the metaphor of a castle.
First, a castle must have a moat. The moat represents a separation of time between you working in the business and everything else. Create a clear stop and start time for each day.
Next, a castle must have a tower. This represents a physical separation. Move your office away from the rest of the house if possible, and create a sound barrier such as white noise.
And finally, a bridge. The bridge is how you cross the moat each day. This is a small set aside amount of time to allow you to power down, stop thinking about work, and then begin to be a part of the home.
