How to take a long Oasis for the holidays

Hitting the reset button allows you to be more productive at work. Last week I was interviewed live by fellow LinkedIn Learning author, Dorie Clark. We discussed why taking a consistent Oasis—time off— is important.

Take time away to reconnect with your purpose and spend time with your loved ones. It’s an essential part of an effective time management system. When you take regular time off, you return with renewed focus and energy to apply towards your work!

Here are some quick tips to make sure your Oasis goes smoothly:

• Know your work rhythm.

• Delegate tasks to trusted team members.

• Give yourself permission to “check-in” at a predetermined time.

• Know the difference between emergencies and “impatiencies.”

• Turn off your phone and enjoy the time away!

Finally, remember one more important thing: It’s not what you do, it’s the time you take that matters.

When’s your next scheduled Oasis? I’d love to hear about it!
