Why planning is the key to being fully prepared

“Yikes! I’m sorry, I forgot. I’ve had so much going on.”
Planning is the difference between being prepared and being caught off guard.
I got to hang out with my good friend, and incredible LinkedIn Learning author, Dean Karrel, at the coolest little park in New York the other day. It’s always great to connect with other like-minded leaders in my industry like Dean, and he inspired me to share this story with you.
I noticed that Dean had printed out my LinkedIn Learning profile prior to meeting with my son and me for lunch! He was well-prepared for our get together, even though we hadn’t seen each other in person for quite some time. I even told my son, Stratton, that he should take note of such a great lesson.
Dean is the go-to guy for learning how to be a prepared leader, and his number one tip is to research and planning for any task or event in advance. This will allow you to be fully prepared for just about any scenario that comes up.
