Being able to work from home comes with more freedom. It also comes with unique challenges, especially as a parent.

During my interview last week with Ken Broo, the radio show host for 700 WLW AM, I shared a tip for establishing boundaries with children in the household. By doing this, you’ll limit the number of distractions and switchtasking in your day.

Here are some quick tips I use with my kids:

  • Create a budget for family time in your schedule.
  • Communicate this budget with your children.
  • Use a kitchen timer for toddlers.
  • During the scheduled family time, honor it by focusing only on them, and not work.

How do you work around the challenges when you work from home as a parent?
